November 2024: Wedding Weekend Recap

Hello, November—

Thank you, dear readers, for joining me once again after a month away to get married! Inspired by our wedding weekend, today’s reflection is on the power and significance of love in all its forms.

Less than two weeks ago, Patrick and I celebrated our marriage among our closest family and friends at the idyllic Lied Lodge in Nebraska City—a place we’ve returned to together, year after year. I could not have dreamed of a more beautiful or meaningful weekend.

Throughout our time together, we made it a point to pause and absorb each moment, mindful that it would be the first and only time beloved friends and family from every season of our lives would gather in one place. There was a profound poetry in this coming together in nature, as we sought to create a retreat-like experience not only to honor our union but to celebrate the rich tapestry of love shared between family, friends, and partners.

To offer a tranquil getaway, (especially for many of our friends who are parents), we chose a child-free weekend. Life is fast and full for all of us, and it’s essential to intentionally create spaces where presence and connection take center stage. Love is abundant, not confined to romantic relationships alone; we can apply the reverence of marriage to all our connections. Imagine the richness if we poured the same devotion, care, generosity, and thoughtfulness into our interactions with friends, colleagues, and neighbors as we would a spouse.

With the joy and whirlwind of wedding planning behind me, I’m eager to channel my creativity back into my work—to bring snippets of that beautiful weekend into my day-to-day life and into the work I do with my clients. Wishing you all a thoughtful and intentional holiday month ahead, full of loving abundance.

Warmly,

 Mrs. Lucy Lantis
