Hello, March!
Morning greets us with more light and the sounds of birds chirping...once again, there is a hopefulness in the season of Spring! Just as the season shifts before our eyes, so does my mindset. I find myself in gratitude to the little things that pulled me through February's drabness. This month's newsletter is brief, because I have been traveling; so, in the name of being where I am at and not overextending, I simply want to share some moments of gratitude this month:
- I am grateful for the relationships I have with the baristas at Hardy Coffee: Corrine, Andrew, Aleeda, Julia, Dez, and Maggie. These sweet souls are constants during my work week and add brightness and warmth to my day. From adding extra cold foam, to inquiring about my weekend - I look forward to these small moments.
- I am grateful to the sweet little bunny that I see nested under a tree every morning on my walk. She reminds me of nature's rhythms and the sacredness of life.
- I am grateful to my oldest friend, Liza, who came to Nebraska twice this past month for work and made an intentional effort to connect. Our friendship has withstood the test of time and distance. Her presence provides safety and comfort, because she has known me since I was fifteen. I am reminded of the importance of putting in the work it takes to keep friendship alive in this season- phone calls, birthday cards, texts with book recommendations - these little touchpoints matter.
- I am grateful to be planning a wedding with my best friend and to love my future in-laws.
- I am grateful for slower days, when making bread and cookies is the only thing I accomplish.
- I am grateful to my friend Paige, who is a super-mom to three beautiful kids. We frequently make plans and then cancel on one another because of the busyness of life - she always understands and never takes it personally.
- I am grateful for Saturday mornings with my sister, where we go for long walks to get coffee and catch up on our week.
I invite you to reflect upon the small moments, the relationships, and the little things that spark joy and gratitude in your daily life. Sending you warmth as we head into the Spring season of rebirth.
Lucy
