September 2024: Intentional Gatherings

Hello, September-

We are slowly inching into my favorite season of all! Right about now, you can notice a subtle difference in the morning...it's crisper, cooler, and has a distinct smell. Not only do I love fall as a season, it also means we are approaching my fiancé Patrick and I's wedding. This past weekend, my dearest friends held a beautiful bridal shower for me, so I wanted to spend some time talking about the importance of gathering to celebrate milestones.

I am in a chapter of life that looks much different from my girlfriends. All of them have been married for years and most of them have children. I have watched friends become wives, mothers, and professionals through the years, which has been a great gift. What has been the most enriching, is witnessing their ability to continue pouring love and time into friendships despite all of these roles. Knowing the extremely full season of life they are in - caregiving to little ones, growing their careers, managing homes and schedules - I did not even expect a gathering. Regardless, they they went above and beyond.

Two of my best friends created the most intentional and meaningful space to celebrate this significant milestone in my life. Of course the food, decor, and flower bouquet station were highlights - but what meant the most is the sentiments of love they shared and the people who were present. I had friends from different eras of my life (some who traveled from out of state), my mom and sister, my future mother-in-law and her sisters, and sister-in-law. They each went around and shared what they love most about me as a person, told stories, and gathered a questionnaire from my fiancé Patrick to share aloud. What I heard, brought me to tears. Consistently, everyone spoke to the unique friendships we have created throughout the years. It was undoubtedly in my top moments of feeling so heartened and grateful.

Life can be very difficult and trying - but it can also be so tender, gentle, and meaningful. When women gather together, there is some special magic that happens. Call it nurturing instincts, or their uncanny ability to think of every detail; but it's so important to gather which intention amidst life's milestones. When we carve out space and time to make someone feel seen, valued, and celebrated - we offer healing balm to the spirit, that everyone is in need of and deserves. Thank you, to the women in my life, who lift me up - it's a gift I will always treasure.  Wishing you a month ahead full of intentional gatherings and tender moments,

Warmly,

Lucy
